A fine example of a vintage Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson oak trinket box, hand carved with the signature mouse to the lid. It is a wonderful dark honey colour and it has been beautifully tooled and adzed, not only to the exterior, but to the interior too, which is great to see as the later trinket boxes aren't hand carved inside, they are machine cut and left plain.
 
It measures 19.2 cm x 11.1 cm x 8.7 cm. The condition is excellent with just ever so slight wear from age and use, mainly to the edges of the top of the box and the lid, where it has been taken off and put back on again over the decades, not really noticeable and quite common with these older boxes. The lid fits well and is obviously original to the piece, you can see that with the adzing. Overall, a really well carved Mouseman trinket box with a particularly well executed signature mouse.
