A vintage Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson oval shaped cheese board, all hand carved from oak with the signature mouse on the handle - circa 1960s / 70s. It has been very subtly adzed to the top surface of the board, giving it a gentle rippling effect. It also has quite a lot of medullary rays within the grain of the oak, adding a bit of character to the piece.
It is in good condition apart from one small hole on the back which has been wax filled. Also, on very close inspection, a few very light knife marks can be seen on the top of the board (priced accordingly).
The length of the board measures 37.5 cm, the width is 19 cm, the thickness of the board is just 1.7 cm - it's a bit smaller and thinner than the later boards which measure 39 cm x 20 cm.
