A 1960s Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson drinks tray with two signature mice - one at either end of the tray. The mice are quite unusual in their positions. They are normally carved running around the tray in the same direction, but these mice have been carved as if they are a mirror image of each other, which makes it a bit more interesting as a collector's piece. It is kidney shaped and it has been very subtly adzed to the top surface.
Regarding condition, it is very good. The base of the tray shows signs of wear where it has been picked up and put down over the decades, and it also has a few dark marks as can be seen in the pictures. Other than that, there are no issues, it has no staining to the top surface, and it has no warping, it sits fine on a flat surface, which is great to see as some of the older trays become warped from years of enduring spilt drinks. It has been carved from a lovely piece of oak that has lots of medullary rays running throughout. It's a really lovely, useful piece. Perfect for serving your drinks and nibbles!
