A vintage Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson drinks tray with not one, but two signature mice! One at either end of the tray. It is kidney shaped and it has been fully tooled to the top.
 
Regarding condition, it is very good. There is a small nibble to an ear of one of the mice. Also, on close inspection, a split in the grain can be seen on one end of the tray where one of the signature mice is. It's not really noticeable, and just about shows up in the zoomed in pictures but should be pointed out. To be picky, the colour of the oak is a bit uneven on the top of the tray due to age and use, but it is surprisingly free from stains. The base of the tray shows signs of wear where it has been picked up and put down over the decades. Other than that, there are no issues. So many of these older drinks trays are warped from use, this example has no warping, it sits fine on a flat surface. 
 
The tray has been carved from a lovely piece of oak that has lots of medullary rays running throughout, which really capture the light and give the tray a bit more character and charm. It's a really lovely, useful piece. Perfect for serving your Christmas drinks and nibbles!
