A really beautiful, vintage Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson fruit bowl, hand carved from oak with the signature mouse in the centre of the bowl. The diameter is 29.5 cm, so a bit smaller than the later bowls, which are 30.5 cm. It has been beautifully tooled to the interior and superbly adzed to the exterior. It has wonderful patina and is also a gorgeous colour.
 
It is in very good condition with no damage. There's a tiny bit of irregularity in the grain of the oak on the rim which has been filled with natural bees wax, not really noticeable, but you can feel it when you run your finger over it. The signature mouse is perfect with no chips to the ears, it has been particularly well carved. Overall, the bowl is a great piece that displays really well.
