A really good example of a vintage Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson dark oak fruit bowl with a perfectly carved signature mouse sitting in the centre of the well - circa 1970.
The bowl is in excellent condition with no damage. To be really picky, on close inspection, a small slightly lighter patch of oak can be seen in the well, not really noticeable. Possibly where a faint stain has been polished out, it will likely disappear with regular polishing and waxing. Other than that, it is perfect. It has wonderful patination, some nice natural knots in the grain, and the colour is beautiful. The signature mouse is in perfect condition with no losses to the tail or chips to the ears. A great piece.
The diameter measures 29cm, so it's slightly smaller than the later examples, which measure 30.5cm.
