A superb example of a vintage Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson dark oak fruit bowl, carved from a wonderful piece of oak. It bears a particularly well carved signature mouse, which sits in the centre of well. The colour of the oak is absolutely gorgeous, and the interior and exterior of the bowl have been beautifully adzed and tooled.
 
It is in excellent condition with no fruit acid staining, no chips, and no cracks. The diameter measures 29 cm, smaller than the later examples. The signature mouse is in perfect condition with no losses to the tail or chips to the ears.
