A pair of vintage Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson napkin rings - circa 1960. They have been beautifully carved, and each has a signature mouse to the top.  They have been made as a pair; they are not just two random napkin rings matched up. The mice look almost like a mirror image of each other. It's getting quite difficult to find original pairs of 1960s Mouseman napkin rings as sets so often get split up. This pair are a wonderful golden dark honey colour, and the mice are perfectly carved with really good detail. 
 
Each napkin ring measures 4.5 cm in height, so a bit smaller and older than most of the Mouseman napkin rings that come to the market, which measure 5 cm. The condition is very good. There are just two tiny nicks to one of the mouse's tails as can be seen in the pictures, not really noticeable, but should be pointed out - priced accordingly. Other than that, just a bit of wear consistent with almost 70 years of age and use.
