A superb example of a Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson pin tray / dish. It is a gorgeous dark oak colour. The signature mouse has been carved on the right-hand side of the pin tray (when viewing it with the mouse facing forward), which is quite rare, they are normally carved on the left. This makes the pin tray a lot more desirable and collectable as a piece.
 
The condition is very good condition with just ever so slight wear to the base where it has been picked up and put down over the years. An excellent example of a Mouseman pin tray, beautifully made, it has even been adzed to the top.
 
These little pin dishes are the same size as the Mouseman ashtrays, but not as many of them were made in comparison to the ashtrays, so they are rarer and more sought after. They are all hand carved, so are quite different.
