A wonderful Trevor 'Squirrelman' Hutchinson clock with not just one signature squirrel, but two! All hand carved from one piece of oak. The two squirrels sit on the top of the clock, each eating a little nut - very charming! The condition of the hand carved case is excellent with no damage. It has acorns and oak leaves carved to each end, which is such a lovely touch and adds so much charm. The clock is battery-operated and is in full working order. It can be removed to replace batteries. Trevor has signed the bottom of the case with his initials - 'TH'. It is an absolutely delightful piece, superbly carved and tooled.
 
Trevor Hutchinson was trained by his father, Wilf Hutchinson, who was famously one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen. He was one of the first craftsmen to leave Mouseman and set up his own workshop. That was in 1957. His trademark squirrel was designed by one of Mouseman's master carvers, Stan Dodds. Stan and Trevor remained good friends after Wilf's death and worked together to create some beautiful pieces right up until Stan also unfortunately passed away.
