A wonderful Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson fruit bowl - circa 1970. It has been expertly carved with a really well executed signature mouse in the well. It has been particularly well tooled, and the toffee colour and patination together are absolutely gorgeous.
 
It is in excellent condition with no fruit acid staining, which is good to see, just a bit of surface wear inside the well, all commensurate with age and use.
 
The diameter measures 29.5 cm, smaller than the later fruit bowls which measure 30.5 cm.
 
A fantastic, vintage Mouseman piece.
