A very rare Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson large Bettys cake stand. This is one of only 50 limited editions that were made by Mouseman especially for Bettys Tea Rooms in Harrogate. It is octagonal in shape and has the signature mouse on one edge, which has been expertly carved. The dark colour of the oak is wonderful, and it has medullary rays running throughout the grain giving the piece more character.
Regarding condition, it is excellent with no damage, it looks to have just been used as a display piece.
It is quite a substantial, heavy piece, measuring 30.5 cm x 30 cm x 5 cm.

Like Mouseman, Bettys Tea Rooms in North Yorkshire are quite famous worldwide. They are an iconic brand and specialise in luxury dining. If you have never been to one of their tea rooms, you must go! They even opened a pop-up shop in Castle Howard this year!
