A great example of a 1960s Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson book trough. These sixties book troughs are fairly rare to the market. As with this example, they are adzed, not only to the sides, but to the back and to the book shelf as well. From the 1970s Mouseman stopped adzing the backs and shelves of their book troughs to save time, so the later examples are just adzed to the sides, the rest is plain.
 
It is in very good condition with no damage. The toffee colour is absolutely gorgeous, and the patination is wonderful, it's really glossy which accentuates the adzing. One of the nicest Mouseman book troughs that has come to the market in a while.
 
These earlier examples are getting harder and harder to acquire now, so other dealers retail these sixties book troughs for almost £1,000. A great, vintage Mouseman piece.
