A superb, 1930s Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson fruit bowl. It is a gorgeous rich, dark oak colour with wonderful patination. The signature mouse has been beautifully carved onto the outside of the bowl. Please note, from the 1960s onwards the mice were carved inside the bowl. These earlier made bowls with the mouse on the outside are much rarer than the later bowls with the mouse in the well.
Regarding condition, there are a few small faint stains from fruit acid that can be seen inside the bowl on close inspection. It also looks like a small nick has been smoothed out on the rim, not really noticeable, but should be pointed out. You can see a small section of the rim is a bit uneven. Other than that, the condition is excellent for an early Mouseman bowl that is almost 100 years old and will in a few years' time be considered antique. Quite often they are cracked, heavily stained etc. They are quite rare to find in such good condition. A wonderful example.
The diameter measures just under 25 cm.
