A wonderful example of a Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson oak candlestick. It has been made from a lovely piece of character oak with some irregularity in the grain pattern of the oak on the base, just where one of the leaves has been carved, almost resembling light burr oak. There are also golden medullary rays in the grain, which really add character and interest.
Quite a large, well fed signature mouse has been carved on the central stem. And at the top of the stem is a handmade wrought iron candle sconce. The whole piece has been beautifully carved.
It is in excellent condition with no damage.
The height measures 29cm (including the sconce).
