A Colin 'Beaverman' Almack stool. Made from dark oak with a kidney shaped seat. The seat has been carved from a particularly interesting piece of oak with an unusual pattern in the grain and sits on three octagonal shaped legs. The signature beaver has been carved to the front, left-hand side of the seat. The condition is very good with just slight signs of wear seen on very close inspection. There is no movement in the legs, it is a good, solid stool. It is a calf stool, so quite small. The seat measures 33 cm x 22.5 cm. The height is 33 cm. A lovely piece.
Colin 'Beaverman' Almack was one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen. He left Thompson's and set up his own workshop adopting the beaver as his signature.
