Rare to the market, a large, vintage Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson nut bowl. The diameter measures 20cm, significantly bigger than most Mouseman nut bowls, which are normally 15cm. This particular bowl is also quite unusual in that it has the mouse carved in the well of the bowl, not on the side. Also, the outside of the bowl has not been adzed, it has a smooth, polished finish, while the interior of the bowl has been beautifully tooled. Very rare to see. 
 
The bowl is in excellent condition with no damage, no chips, and no cracks. It has wonderful patination and the colour is excellent. The signature mouse is in perfect condition with no losses to the tail or chips to the ears. The green baize to the base, likely original and applied to the bowl when it was made.  A wonderful, rare, vintage Mouseman piece.
