Welcome to the Yorkshire Mouse online shop

A sweet Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson nut bowl with the signature mouse carved in the bowl. Circa 1960s / 1970s. These little vintage nut bowls with the mouse in the bowl don't often come up for sale, so they are always very popular with collectors when they do as they display so well. They pre-date the Mouseman nut bowls where the mouse is carved onto the side of the bowl. Other examples I have seen of these bowls are normally more plain in design with no adzing to the exterior. This one has an adzed exterior. I think this is possibly the only earlier made nut bowl I have seen that has this little extra, which really adds to the character of the bowl. It is a gorgeous colour, and it has a well carved signature mouse.

The condition is very good. There is one small scratch inside the bowl, which isn't really noticeable, it can be seen in the video (bottom left-hand side of the interior well). Other than that, it just has light wear all commensurate with approximately 60 years of use. The diameter measures just 17 cm, so it really is quite a petite bowl. It has been pictured next to a Mouseman fruit bowl for size comparison. When you handle this piece, you can see that it is basically a miniature version of a Mouseman fruit bowl, especially with the adzing to the exterior, just like the fruit bowls. It is extremely tactile. A wonderful little Mouseman piece. Perfect for serving nuts or your Christmas nibbles!

Please note, the fruit bowl in one of the pictures is not included in the price.
