An early Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson rectangular drinks tray - circa 1940.  It has two signature mice, one at either end. The condition is good. It has some old nicks and scratches to the top surface, all in line with 80 - 90 years of age and use. One of the signature mice has an old chip to its ear (priced accordingly), the other mouse is perfect. A lot of these trays are warped and heavily stained as they were used regularly to serve drinks, this example isn't, it sits nice and flat on the surface. It measures 55 cm (including the mice) x 33 cm. A lovely, early piece.
 
These rectangular trays are quite rare to the market, much rarer than the kidney shaped trays, so are always highly sought after by collectors when they do come up and they can command very high prices.
