A wonderful example of a 1960s Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson fruit bowl. It has been so well carved with an expertly executed signature mouse sitting in the centre of the bowl. It is a small fruit bowl, measuring just 26 cm. These smaller, earlier fruit bowls are quite rare to the market. The later bowls are much larger with a diameter of around 30.5 cm.
The condition is very good with no damage, just a bit of surface wear, some light fruit acid staining, and faint scratches seen on close inspection, all in line with age and use. It has superb patination that you just don't get on the later bowls. A great piece.
