Welcome to the Yorkshire Mouse online shop

A 1930s Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson dish top stool. The seat is burr oak. There is some natural cracking to the seat, common with burr oak stools and considered desirable, this is not damage. The more irregularity, cracks, splits and knots there are on Mouseman burr oak pieces, the better, so long as they don't weaken the stool to a point where it cannot be used for its intended purpose. A small, circular piece of oak has been used to strengthen one of the larger cracks. The stool has been priced accordingly. There are scuffs, nicks and dents to both the rails and the legs, all in line with approximately 100 years of use - please see pictures as they represent the condition quite accurately. The signature mouse has been particularly well carved and is typical of the 1930s. A wonderful piece.
