Welcome to the Yorkshire Mouse online shop

A rare 1930s Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson dark oak stool with a burr oak drop-in seat. A perfectly carved signature mouse runs up one front leg.

The seat has been fitted with a superb piece of heavily burred oak, which is a later addition to the stool and is not original - priced accordingly.

The frame of the stool has been adzed, which is great to see and only seen on the early Mouseman stools. The later stools are left plain to save on time. For that reason, the adzed Mouseman stools are much rarer to the market and are therefore more sought after.

The condition is very good. There are some small, old chips and dents here and there, all in line with around 100 years of age and use. There is also a tiny nick to the right ear of the mouse which can be felt when you run your fingers over it, not noticeable, but should be pointed out.

A highly collectable, rare Mouseman piece. The rich, dark oak colour is wonderful, and the oak has excellent patination.

The height of the stool is 36cm. The width is 33.8cm. The depth is 26cm.
