A lovely example of a Peter 'Rabbitman' Heap nut bowl. Rabbitman nut bowls are quite scarce to the market, although fruit bowls occasionally come up, nut bowls hardly ever do. It has been beautifully hand carved with the signature rabbit on the side of the bowl. It is a lovely colour, and the condition is excellent with just a bit of unevenness in colour to the inside of the bowl from use, not really noticeable, but should be pointed out. The diameter of the bowl measures 16 cm.
 
Peter Heap was one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen. He set up his own workshop and adopted the rabbit as his signature. His work is held in very high regard and since his death he has become extremely popular with Yorkshire Critter collectors.
