A gorgeous vintage Peter 'Rabbitman' Heap magazine rack with panelled sides and signature rabbit carved in high relief to the top - circa 1970. It is a wonderful rich, dark oak colour and being an earlier made piece, it has excellent patination. The panels have also been beautifully adzed and really reflect the light.
 
A great piece that can be used not only for storing magazines, but also books, children's toys, etc. They are fairly rare to the market, and this example has to be one of the best. 
 
Peter Heap was one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen. He set up his own workshop in 1971 and adopted the rabbit as his signature. His pieces have become highly collectable since his death.
