A wonderful, rare vintage Bob 'Wrenman' Hunter burr oak wine table with the signature wren perched on the base. The whole piece has been superbly carved and the irregular pattern in the grain on the burr oak top really adds character. The little wren also adds so much charm to the piece as it looks out inquisitively from its perch.
The condition is very good with just a bit of wear seen on close inspection, all in line with age and use. It has had a polish and fresh coat of clear wax, so is looking at its best.
The height of the table is 57 cm. The diameter of the tabletop is 30 cm.
Bob 'Wrenman' Hunter was one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen. He left Mouseman and started his own workshop, adopting the little wren as his signature. His pieces are always exceptionally carved, so are very sought after by collectors.
