A rare Peter 'Rabbitman' Heap pyramid shaped table / desk lamp. It has been beautifully carved with the signature rabbit in high relief climbing up the base. It is fully adzed on every side and has some natural knots in the grain which add a bit of character to the piece. 
 
The condition is excellent. There is just one small dark mark on the back of the lamp which looks to be a natural inconsistency in the grain and likely there when the lamp was carved.  Not really noticeable but should be pointed out. It can be seen in the pictures.
 
The brass bulb holder has an on / off switch, so the lamp can be turned on and off at the bulb holder rather than just at the electrical socket. 
 
The height of the lamp (not including the brass fittings) is 23 cm.
 
A very unusual Peter 'Rabbitman' Heap piece. The first that Yorkshire Mouse has managed to acquire as they hardly ever come to the market.
 
Peter Heap was one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen. He set up his own workshop in 1970 and adopted the rabbit as his signature. His pieces have become highly collectable since his death.
