A superb example of a Peter 'Rabbitman' Heap fruit bowl. It has been expertly carved and has the signature rabbit in high relief sitting in the well. One of the nicest examples that has come to the market with bamboo detail carved on the rim, which adds a bit more character. It displays really well, and the condition is perfect with no damage and no fruit acid stains. It looks to have just been used for display. A charming, hand carved piece.

Peter Heap was one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen. He set up his own workshop in 1970 and adopted the rabbit as his signature. His pieces have become highly collectable since his death.
