A Peter 'Rabbitman' Heap fruit bowl. It has been beautifully carved with bamboo detail carved on the rim. The signature rabbit in high relief sits in the well.
The condition is very good. However, there is one small crack (see last two pictures), which when displayed is not noticeable, but should be pointed out. Because of the crack, the bowl has been reduced in price.
The diameter measures 22 cm.
Peter Heap was one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen. He set up his own workshop in 1970 and adopted the rabbit as his signature. His pieces have become highly collectable since his death.
