A striking pair of Bob 'Wrenman' Hunter bookends, each with a signature wren perched on the top. They have been beautifully hand carved and are a wonderful colour. 
 
The condition is excellent with no damage, just ever so slight wear seen on very close inspection, all in line with age and use.  One of the bookends has a light patch on the back (see picture). This is just a natural inconsistency within the colour of the oak.
 
Bob 'Wrenman' Hunter was one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen. He left Mouseman and started his own workshop, adopting the little wren as his signature. His pieces are always exceptionally carved, so are very sought after by collectors.
