A lovely vintage Colin 'Beaverman' Almack oak table / desk lamp. It has been carved from three pieces of oak. The oak used for the column is lighter fumed than the two pieces used for the octagonal base, which is a nice contrast. It has a really well carved signature beaver climbing up the column. The gingerbread colour is gorgeous and being a vintage lamp, the oak has great patination. 
 
The height measures approximately 43 cm, including the brass bulb holder. The bulb holder takes a bayonet bulb and has a brass ring that unscrews off so that a lamp shade can be fitted, the ring can be screwed back on to secure the shade.
 
Regarding condition, it is excellent with no damage. It is also in full working order. 
 
Colin 'Beaverman' Almack was one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen. He worked for Thompson during the 1940s and 1950s. He set up his own workshop in 1960 and adopted the beaver as his signature.
