A vintage Colin 'Beaverman' Almack dark oak letter rack. All hand carved with the signature beaver carved in low relief to the front.
It is in very good condition with no damage, just a little surface wear. It has had a recent polish and wax, which has really enhanced the dark colour of the oak. A lovely, useful piece.
The width measures 29.5 cm, the depth 10 cm, and the height 14.5 cm.
Colin 'Beaverman' Almack was one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen. He worked for Thompson during the 1940s and 1950s. He set up his own workshop in 1960 and adopted the beaver as his signature.
