Welcome to the Yorkshire Mouse online shop

A wonderful example of an early Colin 'Beaverman' Almack fruit bowl. It has been really well made with the signature beaver carved in high relief on the side of the bowl. The beaver has a raised head and looks almost like an early Mouseman mouse with front paws. The later beaver signatures are normally much bigger and fatter. Quite rare to find these 1960s Beaverman bowls.

Regarding condition, there's a couple of small nicks inside the bowl and some faint scratches. It has been used as a fruit bowl and has wear commensurate with approximately 60 years of use.

The diameter measures 23.5 cm.

Colin 'Beaverman' Almack was one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen. He worked for Thompson during the 1940s and 1950s. He set up his own workshop in 1960 and adopted the beaver as his signature.
