Welcome to the Yorkshire Mouse online shop

A rare Peter 'Rabbitman' Heap panelled collector's chest / canteen. More than likely a bespoke one-off piece. It has been beautifully made with the signature rabbit on the front. It has four drawers, three of them have separated compartments. All of the drawers have been lined with green baize. It can be used as a canteen to store cutlery, or it can be used as a collector's chest to store any collection of small pieces or even just to store your bits and bobs.

The condition is excellent with no damage, just ever so slight signs of light wear seen on very close inspection. On one of the panelled sides, a dark mark can be seen, which is just a natural inconsistency in the colour of the oak, not damage. The green baize lining in the drawers is in clean condition with no damage.

A great, rare Peter 'Rabbitman' Heap piece, which is of superb quality, quite substantial in weight, but just the right size to fit into most rooms.

Height 61 cm. Depth 33 cm. Width 49.5 cm.

Peter Heap was one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen. He set up his own workshop in 1971 and adopted the rabbit as his signature. His pieces have become highly collectable since his death.
