A really lovely Horace 'Knightman' Knight oak child's chair with a Yorkshire rose carved on the front and three leaves carved on the back, probably a commissioned piece. It has been signed by Horace with his signature knight's head carved on one front leg.
 
The condition is very good. There is light staining to the leather seat, other than that, no condition issues. It has great patination and is a gorgeous gingerbread colour. The upholstered leather seat is original and is a light honey colour.
 
The full height of the chair measures 69 cm high, the width is 35 cm, the depth is 30.5 cm. The seat height is 33 cm, the perfect size for small children. A very sweet one-off piece that displays really well. The Yorkshire rose and leaves on the chair back have been perfectly carved.
 
Horace Knight was trained by Sid Pollard, who was one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen.
