A hand carved cheeseboard with a little mouse on the board. Carved from one piece of oak in the manner of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson. It is likely an 'out of hours' piece. Robert Thompson allowed his craftsmen to carve their own pieces outside of the workshop hours, hence why these pieces are called 'out of hours' pieces. Craftsmen often made items as gifts for family, friends and loved ones.
The condition is good with just some wear commensurate with age and use. There are no knife marks to the board or chips to the ears of the mouse. A charming piece.
