An excellent example of an early dark oak Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson ashtray / trinket dish with a perfectly carved large, stout signature mouse on the top. The dark colour is absolutely wonderful, like dark chocolate, and the whole piece has fantastic patina that you just don't get with the later Mouseman ashtrays.

As it is an early example, the well of the ashtray has been hand carved, which is great to see, the wells of the later ashtrays are machine cut and are more uniform. Also, when facing forwards, the signature mouse has been carved on the right-hand side, making it a bit more unusual as most are carved on the left. A cut above the rest of the Mouseman ashtrays that normally come to the market.

The condition is very good with no damage.
