An early Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson dark oak napkin ring. The signature mouse has been really well carved and is much smaller than the mice on the later napkin rings. The dark oak colour is really gorgeous. The oak has natural imperfections in it as seen in the pictures which is quite rare to see with the Mouseman napkin rings and adds character. It measures just 3.8 cm high. 
 
It is in very good condition with just one small nick to the tail, not really noticeable, but should be pointed out. Other than that, just a bit of surface wear commensurate with age and use.
 
These petite napkin rings rarely come to the market, measuring just 3.8 cm, they are so much smaller than the later napkin rings that increased in size as the decades went on, eventually measuring 5 cm. They are very charming little Mouseman pieces.
