An early Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson napkin ring - circa 1930s / 40s. It is in fair condition with several repaired cracks and a small chip to one of the ears of the mouse - please see pictures. Other than that, the signature mouse has been really well carved with the thinner neck and higher back end, typical of the 1930s / 40s mice. The dark oak colour is also really lovely. It measures 3.8 cm high.
 
If you want to own an early piece of Mouseman but your budget is limited, then a little napkin ring such as this is ideal. 
 
These little napkin rings rarely come to the market. They measure just 3.8 cm, so much smaller than the later napkin rings that increased in size as the decades went on, eventually measuring 5 cm.
