Rare to the market, a bespoke made Colin 'Beaverman' Almack curtain rail with the signature beaver carved on one end. The pole is made from medium fumed oak while the two end brackets and finials are carved from a darker fumed oak, giving an interesting contrast. The rail has its original curtain rings, which is great to see. A really charming piece.
The condition is excellent with no damage. The length of the rail measures 137 cm (including the end finials).
Colin 'Beaverman' Almack was one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen. He worked for Thompson during the 1940s and 1950s. He set up his own workshop in 1960 and adopted the beaver as his signature.
